Poker is a card game in which players place bets on a combination of two or more cards. The goal of the game is to have the highest hand. The game has many variations, but all of them involve betting. It is a game of deception, where the more you know what other players have, the better your chances are of beating them. Each player starts with 2 cards that are dealt face down. Then there is a round of betting, started by 2 mandatory bets called blinds made by the players to the left of the dealer. Once the betting is done, a 3rd card is dealt face up. This is known as the flop.<\/p>\n
After the flop, you can continue to bet by saying \u201craise.\u201d If you raise, all players who haven\u2019t folded must either call your new bet or fold. The player who has the best 5 card hand wins the pot. There can also be side pots, created by additional money bet by players who are not all-in prior to the final betting round.<\/p>\n
To be successful, you must maximise your winning hands and minimise your losses on your losing ones. This strategy is called MinMax.
