Poker is a game of chance where players place bets in the hope of winning a pot. Poker is played with a standard 52 card deck. The cards are ranked from Ace to ten.<\/p>\n
Ties are broken by a high card. The best hand is a five of a kind. Occasionally, a wild card is used.<\/p>\n
A pot can be won by the player with the highest ranking poker hand. Aside from the actual pot, players earn points based on the number of hands revealed.<\/p>\n
A poker game can be played with any number of players. The ideal poker group is 6 to 8 people. Some games may require a minimum ante. This amount is based on the stakes of the game.<\/p>\n
The poker game has several betting intervals. The betting interval is an in-between period of time during which the players can check, raise, or fold.<\/p>\n
The first betting interval begins with the dealer. This is followed by two other dealers. The dealer has the last right to shuffle the deck. If he does not, the next round of dealing is interrupted.<\/p>\n
The second betting interval begins with two of the three dealers still in the pot. The third betting interval is similar to the previous ones, but it starts with the player to the left of the big blind.<\/p>\n
